Belton, Texas – On Saturday, December 16, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will host a special Welcome Home event in front of the Cummins Field House for the CRU football program as the team returns to campus following its appearance in the 2017 Division III Football National Championship game. This event is free and open to the public.
Fans are asked to arrive by 12:30 p.m. Based on current forecasts, there is a potential for rain, so participants are encouraged to bring umbrellas. Should the team be delayed leaving Virginia, the schedule for the Welcome Home event could be impacted. Updates will be posted to the UMHB homepage and Facebook page.
The Welcome Home event will be held regardless of the outcome of the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl, which is held in Salem, Virginia and pits the CRU against the University of Mount Union Raiders. The game marks the CRU’s third appearance in a Division III National Championship Game, having won last year’s contest against University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.
