Belton, Texas – Thursday March 8, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Opera/Music Theatre will culminate their long year with a work-shop presentation of a variety of staged scenes from Carmen, La Cenerentola, Hansel and Gretel, Lakme, Cosi fan Tutte, Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute and The Marriage of Figaro. The showcase will begin at 7:30 p.m. in W.W. Walton Chapel on the UMHB campus.
The showcase will include experimental usage of screens and video projectors. It is under the direction of George Hogan, Director of the UMHB Opera/Music Theatre and Opera Cru programs. He is assisted by Penny Hogan, Associate Director of Opera/Music Theatre, and Nelda Milligan, Opera/Music Theatre accompanist. Student performers include Krista Ash, Katrina Bernhard, Kailyn Campbell, Josiah Davis, Sam Davis, Haide Gonzales, Jessica Gonzales, Tasha Jefferson, Elizabeth Pasichnyk, and Sarah Sanderford.
This event is free and open to the public. Don’t miss hearing these wonderful voices perform great music under some new visual effects.
