November 18, 2008

Belton, Texas - The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor's College of Visual and Performing Arts in collaboration with KNCT Public Broadcasting are proud to present a special Christmas radio broadcast of "Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol" written by Tom Mula.

Performance dates are scheduled for Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, at 7:00 p.m., with a morning presentation scheduled on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, at 10 a.m. on public radio station KNCT 91.3 FM.

This novel version of the Dickens' classic is told by the ghost of Jacob Marley, Scrooge's former partner, and provides an inspiring and poignant tale about the human condition. It is the story of Jacob Marley's gallant behind-the-scenes efforts to save old Scrooge's soul-and in the process saves his own. Irreverent, funny, and deeply moving for the whole family, this unique rendition of a classic favorite offers a splendid and refreshing performance and is an excellent complement to the holiday season.

Produced by the UMHB College of Visual and Performing Arts and performed by UMHB theatre students, under the direction of Michael J. Fox, UMHB Artistic Director, and recorded by students from the Communications Department of Central Texas College under the direction of Max Rudolph, General Manager, and KNCT 91.3 FM.
