December 8, 2009

Belton, Texas - Cru Film students at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will give a Readers' Theater presentation of original short screenplays in Brindley Auditorium in York Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9. This program is free and open to the public.

These engaging screenplays represent a range of genres that include the following: serious drama, romantic comedy and science fiction. The screenplays have universal themes, but with unexpected twists and turns. They are entertaining and encouraging.

The following short screenplays will be read: "Black Roses" by Kacey Cox, "Lost and Found" by Megaen L. Birdwell, "Protecting What's Precious" by Zach Todd, "Eachtrannach" by James Crawford, "Forgiveness" by Kriskeya Price and "Over Troubled Waters" by Rachel Jeske. The program will conclude with a video of Terrance McGee's screenplay "Blue Print."

In the Cru Film program at UMHB, students write and produce original films. They learn and practice the process of filmmaking in hands-on projects from script to screen. Previous Cru Films are available in the UMHB Townsend Memorial Library.
