Belton, Texas – University of Mary Hardin-Baylor students will present Effective Communication Via E-Technologies on Wednesday, December 8, at 3:00 p.m., in Brindley Auditorium in York Science Hall on campus. Communication students will demonstrate judicious use of PowerPoint, while they present effective communication tips in using current e-technologies.

Terrance McGee will address wise use of e-mail. Jerrad Jefferson will cover skillful communication in e-groups and social networks. Brandon Brewer will address artistic use of photos, graphics, and videos. Hayley Ainsworth will show pages from student e-portfolios, as she covers effective bios, resumes, and work samples. Kayla Lynch will present how to facilitate higher level thinking skills in online instruction. Cassy Olvera will cover effective performance communication via videoconferencing and webcasting. Finally, Jerrad Jefferson will address effective online communication in applying for jobs.

The presenters are students of Dr. Diane Howard and have used her book Enhanced by Technology, Not Diminished: A Practical Guide to Effective, Distance Communication (McGraw Hill, 2002).
