Belton, TX – The annual Miss Mary Hardin-Baylor Pageant is set for Friday, November 9, and Saturday, November 10, at 7.00 p.m. in W.W Walton Chapel on campus. As part of the competition, 23 young ladies will represent various university organizations, residence halls and classes in their quest for the title. Unlike more traditional pageants, Miss MHB recognizes a young woman’s self-confidence, personality and inner beauty.
During the first night of the competition, contestants will perform their talents, which range from musical performances to a magic act. The ladies will be judged based on their creativity, originality, preparedness, confidence, the appropriateness of their props and costumes and the overall presentation.
Saturday evening the contestants will be judged in both evening gown and interview competitions. Again, judging criteria will include personality, confidence, diction and sincerity.
Following the announcement of this year’s winner, a small reception will be held in the Mabee-Farris Recreation Gymnasium of the Frank and Sue Mayborn Campus Center.
