Belton, Texas – On Tuesday, February 12, the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will welcome the 1st Cavalry Division Blackjack Brass Quintet and the Ear Assault Woodwind Trio at 7:30 p.m. in the Hughes Recital Hall of Presser Hall on the UMHB campus. The event is free and open to the public.
These two ensembles are a part of the larger Fort Hood band. Army Bands provide music throughout the spectrum of military operations to instill in servicemen and women the will to fight and win, foster the support of citizens, and promote national interests at home and abroad. Personnel in the brass quintet are: Sergeant First Class Corey Dawson (tuba), Sergeants Bradley Schaefer (trombone), Bradley Sherman (trumpet), and Hannah Smicker (horn), and Specialist Phillip Terrell (trumpet). Personnel in the woodwind trio are: Sergeant First Class Cristino Moreno (flute), Staff Sergeant Jonathan Creal (Bassoon), and Specialist Brent Ramsey (clarinet).
