Belton, Texas – Miss Burt Hall, Lauren Rodriguez from Okinawa, Japan, was crowned Miss Mary Hardin-Baylor 2012, Saturday, November 5, in the annual Miss MHB Pageant at the university. 

Rodriguez is a 20-year-old junior education major and the daughter of Steve and Rachel Rodriguez.  She has been involved in Stunt Night and leads the Children’s Ministry at Hope Community Church.  Her platform was “Supporting Military Families.”  

Rodriguez was crowned on Saturday by the reigning Miss MHB Ariel Sheffield. 

First runner up was Miss McLane Hall, Madaline Garcia of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Second runner up was Miss Baptist Student Ministry, Emily Allen of Leander; third runner up was Miss Senior Class, Hayley Shaffer of Cooper; and fourth runner up was Miss Search Cru, Jenna Jones of Rockwall.

Other members of the top 10 were Miss University Ambassadors, Cameron Prenger of Kandern, Germany; Miss Student Government Association, Caitlin Hiett of Kingwood; Miss Image, Chelsea Owens of Houston; Miss Sigma Pi, Melanie Roberts of El Paso; Miss Cru 4 Life, Courtney Gerome of Coppell.

Hiett was selected as the winner of this year’s Miss Congeniality honor. Roberts was also recognized by the judges with the award for Best Non-finalist Talent. Likewise Prenger was singled out with the award for Best Non-finalist Interview. The award for Best Non-finalist Evening Gown went to Miss Ultimate Cru, Natalie Roman of Lake Jackson.
