Belton, Texas –The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Film Program will hold a Spring 2012 Cru Film Project Kick-Off event on Monday, January 30, at 5:00 p.m. in the Brindley Auditorium of York Science Hall on the UMHB campus.
The basic purpose of UMHB student film productions is to provide students and associates with hands-on experience in the process of producing films from script to screen. The goal is to prepare students to work on film sets and productions in the real world.
This script-to-screen process begins in the UMHB screenwriting course in which each student pens a short screenplay. UMHB faculty members select screenplays for production. This spring’s selection is, “The Walk” (working title) written by Kelsey Broussard. Senior Chris Collins has been named the Student Director. Elizabeth Hauser will serve as Editor.
“The Walk” is about a young woman who has grown up with an absentee father. As her own wedding approaches, she discovers that while her earthly father may disappoint her, her heavenly father never will.
Anyone interested in being involved in the film as either a cast or crew member is welcome. Auditions are open to all and will be held Monday, February 6, starting at 4:00 p.m. in Brindley Auditorium. Along with several speaking parts, extras of all ages are needed.
