Belton, Texas – The annual Miss Mary Hardin-Baylor Pageant is set for Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9, at 7 p.m. in W.W. Walton Chapel on the UMHB campus. Unlike more traditional pageants, 24 young ladies representing different organizations and residence halls will be judged on their personality, self-confidence and charisma for the title.

Contestants will perform their talents during the first night of the pageant. The interview and evening gown competitions will occur Saturday evening. Judging will be based on the ladies’ originality, creativity, sincerity, appropriateness of props and costumes, and their overall presentation during both nights.

A small reception in the Mabee-Farris Recreation Gymnasium of the Frank and Sue Mayborn Campus Center will follow the announcement of this year’s winner Saturday night.

The director of this year’s pageant is ­­­senior nursing major, Ashton Ellegood from Mesquite, Texas. Ellegood’s assistant directors are senior public relations major Rylee Heckathrone from Red Oak, Texas, and senior Spanish major Melanie Gatlin form Graham, Texas.
