Art & Music Camps

Summer Art Workshops
Date:           June 28 – August 1, Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Ages:           7-12
Students will explore art history and a variety of modes of expression, including drawing, painting, and sculpture. There will be long term and daily group and individual projects. At the end of each session, a gallery exhibit will be held.
 
Youth Summer Musical Camp
Date:           June 18 – July 1, auditions 5/8 and 5/10

Ages:           12-20
Students age 12-20 are eligible to audition for a role in the Summer Musical. Auditions will be held on Tuesday and Thursday, May 8 and 10, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Call backs will be held on May 12.

 

2012 All-State Choir Camp

All-State Choir Camp is open to high school choir students who would like to prepare for the TMEA All-State Choir. The camp is free to any student who was a part of the 2012 All-State Choir.

 

Drum Major/Color Guard Camp Steven Moss Leadership Academy

Drum Majors will learn how to conduct as well as develop teaching and leadership skills. Color guard members will study technique and performance quality and develop movement skills and confidence.

 

Kindermusik Summer Sessions

Ages:           Newborn – 7
By moving and dancing to music and playing simple instruments, children will engage in activities that encourage creativity and a love of music.

UMHB Chem Camp
Date:           June 4-8, 11-15
Time:           1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Ages:           Grade 3-6
Dr. Darrell Watson, professor of chemistry, has designed the camp to motivate elementary and middle school students towards science, while giving them actual laboratory experience.  Participants will make slime and nylon, turn pennies into gold and silver, and conduct many other exciting chemical investigations.

2012 Football Elite Camp

The Elite camp is an intensive camp designed for the serious football athlete. The camp will include individual skill and technique drills and group instruction. The camp is non-contact.

 

UMHB Camp of Champions 2012

Ages:           Grades 7-10
This camp is designed to help middle and high school players to take their games to the next level. There will position-specific training as well as general fundamentals instruction. Campers will also engage in skills testing and individual competitions.

 

UMHB Tennis Camp 2012

The tennis camp is designed for elementary school children who may never before have played the game.

 

UMHB Boys Basketball Camp

The Cru Boys Basketball Camp will emphasize fundamental offensive skills like shooting, passing, dribbling, individual offensive moves, and reading defenses. There will also be instruction relating to defensive and rebounding techniques.

 

UMHB Girls Basketball Camp

Cru Volleyball Elite Overnight Camp

The Elite Overnight Camp is for designed for the college-bound player who has significant club experience. This camp will be very demanding physically;  players should be used to intense physical conditioning.
 
Cru Volleyball All Skills Camp

The All Skills Camp is designed for players looking to improve their game and to prepare for volleyball in middle and high school. Players will work on fundamental skill development.

The Cru Softball Camp will offer two separate sessions, with both of them focusing on all-around softball skills. The camp will teach hitting and bunting fundamentals, base running and sliding, and defensive techniques and skills.

This camp is designed for those players with aspirations of competing at the college level. The camp will provide a challenging training environment and give players the opportunity to experience life as a college athlete.
Cru Baseball Camps
Date:           June 11 – June 13

Location:     Red Murff Field in the UMHB SportsPlex
Ages:           7-15
This camp is designed for elementary and middle school aged players looking to stregnthen their fundamentals and take their game to the next level. Each camper will be provided with a t-shirt.

 

UMHB Summer Swim Program

Ages:           9 months to adults
Program offers group and private swim lessons which follow the Red Cross “Learn to Swim” levels, focusing on water safety skills and swimming fundamentals.  Swimmers are grouped by age and skill level; classes are limited to a small number of students. Each session consists of eight lessons, 45 minutes each.
